What Is the largest farm in the USA?
The largest farm in the USA is the King Ranch, which is located in southeastern Texas and is composed of four tracts of land totaling approximately 825,000 acres (333,800 hectares).
It is mainly a cattle ranch, but also produced the Triple Crown winning racehorse Assault.
The ranch is divided into four large sections called divisions, which are the Santa Gertrudis, the Laureles, the Encino, and the Norias.
The King Ranch is owned by the Kleberg family. The ranch was established by Richard King, a steamboat captain born in 1825 in Orange county, New York. After King's death in 1885, the ranch continued to deal in cattle and horses, as well as in sorghum and wheat.
Beginning in about 1910, the ranch began to develop the breed of beef cattle known as Santa Gertrudis, which is part Brahman and part Shorthorn.
Today, King Ranch operates extensive turfgrass operations and is the majority owner of one of the largest citrus producers in the United States.
