The most common types of tractor accidents are:

To prevent rollovers, it is important to drive slowly and be aware of the terrain. Additionally, ensure that the tractor has an approved cab or roll-over protective structure (ROPS) installed.
- Tractor runovers: Tractor runovers occur when a person is run over by a tractor. To prevent runovers, always mount and dismount on a tractor's left side to avoid controls. Additionally, keep children away from tractors and machinery.
- Tractor PTO entanglement: Tractor PTO entanglement occurs when clothing, hair, or body parts become entangled in the PTO shaft. To prevent PTO entanglement, use a protective PTO shaft cover and PTO shield.
- Collisions with other cars: Tractor collisions with other cars can cause serious injuries. To prevent collisions, always use flashing amber light for towing on roads.
- Falling or tipping: Falling or tipping can occur when a tractor is not used properly. To prevent falling or tipping, always start and stop the tractor slowly, and ensure that the park brake is on and operating effectively before exiting.
- Moving parts: Tractor accidents can also be caused by moving parts. To prevent accidents caused by moving parts, always work the tractor's controls from the driver's seat unless the manufacturer has specifically designed controls for use in other positions.
It is important to read the manufacturer's operating instructions and complete the necessary specialist training before driving a tractor for the first time. Refreshing your knowledge is also important if it has been a while since you have driven a tractor.
