Tractor rollovers can be prevented by following these guidelines...

  • Operate tractors equipped with rollover protective structures (ROPS) while wearing a seatbelt.
  • Stay away from steep slopes, ditches, and embankments.
  • Keep the front-end loaded buckets low during transport and turns.
  • Lock the brakes when parking on an incline.
  • Hitch only at the manufacturer's recommended height.
  • Engage the clutch pedal slowly and smoothly.
  • Be ready to use the brakes if the tractor starts to roll backward.
  • Avoid sharp turns at high speeds.
  • Keep the tractor in low gear when going downhill.
  • Avoid carrying heavy loads on steep hills.

By following these guidelines, tractor operators can significantly reduce the risk of rollovers and prevent serious injuries
