How Tractor Split Brakes Work
Split brakes in compact tractors work by allowing the operator to independently brake the left and right rear wheels.
This feature enhances the tractor's maneuverability, especially in making sharp turns, navigating in mud or soft soil, and controlling tire spinning due to loss of traction.
By pressing each brake pedal individually, the operator can lock the corresponding rear wheel.
Additionally, locking both pedals together with a provided latch enables simultaneous braking of both rear wheels, providing increased stopping power.
This independent control of the rear wheels augments the steering of the tractor when only the two rear wheels are driven, contributing to improved control and safety during various operating conditions.
